The Drill Master: One Night in Los AngelesComedians and co-writers Caleb Zarang, Jenny Zigrino, and Jeffrey Jay join Out Loud and Laughing to talk about The Drillmaster—their funny, irreverent take on the story of Baron Friedrich von Steuben, the queer Prussian military leader who helped shape the American army. The conversation covers the show’s mix of historical detail and theatrical chaos, how the trio’s different creative strengths come together, and why they want queer people and other overlooked figures included in the story of America. Along the way, the guests share how the project began, what they had to cut from the script, and why this is a timely moment to bring the history to the stage.
